The Minstrel's Open Stage is your chance to make music on our stage. This welcoming and supportive open stage is run by MC Mitch Radler. Performers sign up for a 15-minute performance. Many Minstrel opening acts are selected from our open stage.
The Minstrel Open Stage is located at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship.
Open Stages are generally 2nd Fridays, but check The Minstrel Acoustic Concert Series for any schedule changes.

Re: Open Stages at the Minstrel
Open Stages at the Minstrel are usually on the 2nd Friday of the month. They are pre-empted occasionally for other events, often in February and May, and sometimes other months.
Check our schedule to be sure.
HOW TO GET TO PERFORM AT THE MINSTREL'S OPEN STAGE:
Starting at 7:30 PM, the evening will be divided into 15-minute time slots during which the various acts will play.
That 15 minutes includes the time to set up and change over the stage between acts.
Starting at 12:00 noon on Saturday, one week before the Open Stage, you can request a performance slot by e-mail
or phone (973) 335-9489. That's my home phone. Please call at polite hours.
The first five requests received will get a Guaranteed Performance Slot, and the next two will get alternate status in case of no-shows. You will be notified by return call or e-mail if you are among the first six.
The first person to reserve will get first choice of time slots (not necessarily the first slot), and the next four will follow in succession of choice.
The remaining time slots will be chosen by lottery from among all the remaining performers on site on the evening of the Open Stage.
No one who performed at the Minstrel's previous Open Stage will be permitted a Guaranteed Performance Slot (one of the first six.) But you still can enter the lottery.
All those wishing to perform at the Open Stage, both those with and without reserved slots, must be present by 7:15 on the night of the show.
All that being said, there is a tradition among the Open Stage regulars to give up one of their songs to someone who got left out. We encourage that courtesy.
I do book opening acts from Open Stage performers. I do attend most of them, and I review videos of those I do not attend. If I'm interested, I will tell
you that same evening if I'm there, and sometimes I will try to arrange a
booking on the spot.
