Benefits of Membership

How we changed one member's life

Joining the Folk Project affords many benefits:

  • Become part of a community of musicians, dancers, storytellers, and other folk who love music and each other.

  • A monthly newsletter, crammed full of information on Folk Project activities and news about other music and dance events in the northeast.

  • Discount on admission to our Spring and Fall Getaways, which are weekends for people who share a love for folk music, dancing, and fun. Each Getaway includes several concerts with top-notch performers, a dance with a great caller and dance band, and more than 30 music, dance, and non-music workshops. Attendance is limited so you get to know the other attendees and performers.

  • Admission to member-only events, such as our monthly Evenings of MusicEvenings of Music are parties of homemade music and friendship held each month at a different member’s home.

  • The opportunity to perform on The Troubadour (formerly The Minstrel) stage in special member events, like our annual Birthday Party and the Valentines Day Extravaganza. These are special Troubadour concerts where our members take the stage and put on the show!

  • List your own gigs in our newsletter letting other members know where you’ll be performing. Send items to our newsleditor.

  • Be included in the Folk Project’s member resource directory. From time to time we get requests for performers, crafters, or other creative people. If you’re listed in our directory, you might be the one to fill a need.

  • Join the Affinity Federal Credit Union as a Folk Project member.

  • Discount on admission to the Folk Alliance national and regional conventions (the Folk Project is a member of the Folk Alliance)
