Holiday Benefit Concert for MUF

Holiday Benefit Concert for MUF

Benefit for MUF Building Fund

It's the Fa la la la la, la la la la time of year. Come on out, one and all! The Folk Project is presenting a Winter Holiday Benefit Concert to raise money for the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship Building Fund. Suggested donation is $10; additional donations encouraged.

8:00 PM, December 19, 2014

Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road, Morristown, NJ

This concert will have something for everyone, from soulful holiday ballads and traditional seasonal classics to original tunes. Hosted by Master Elf MC Bob McNally.

Sing along with:

  • Christine DeLeon: Crafts songs that stir the heart and its memories. A winner of the 2014 Recording Artist Development Singing Contest and the 2008 New Jersey Folk Festival Songwriting Competition.

  • Jeff "Big Jeff" DeSmedt: His blend of humor, learning and "super-interactive" audience participation that has been captivating folks across the NY Metro area for the past ten years.

  • Bill Hall: A songwriter's songwriter and Kerrville New Folk award-winner. He appeared with Peter Yarrow and Pete Seeger and fronted folk-rock and rock bands in the 70s and 80s and has now returned to his singer–songwriter roots, painting musical landscapes inside "tasty word salads".

  • Kathy Haynie: Has studied piano and French horn and accompanied countless singers and instrumentalists. Her current passions are jazz piano, funk, drumming, and making 32 feet of metal vibrate with her lips.

  • Jefferson Berry: Both an accomplished guitar player and a published historian. His Urban Acoustic Coalition brings this danceable style and contemporary point of view to Folk/Rock.

  • Liz Pagan:, In addition to her musical endeavors, Liz ekes out a living as a graphic designer, writer/editor and Iyengar-certified yoga instructor.

All proceeds will go to our long-time host, the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship Building Fund. The Fellowship is raising money for an expansion and upgrade of their facilities. Suggested tax-deductible donation is $10, but we encourage you to consider making an additional donation. All proceeds from the evening, except for CD sales, will be donated to MUF.
