The Acoustic Getaway is an amazing three-day retreat for music lovers and music makers — an unforgettable weekend vacation filled with concerts, workshops, friends, comfortable lodging, great food, and four incredible acts — Pete and Maura Kennedy, Deni Bonet with Chris Flynn, Susan Cataneo, and Andrew Dunn — plus the Duet Roulette, a concert challenge that pairs guests artist randomly for a fun finale performance.
Pete and Maura Kennedy, the dynamic songwriting duo, make their triumphant return to the Getaway. With a deep dive into American roots music, they’ve crafted a powerful new collection of original, socially-conscious songs. Their performance showcases great guitar work, glorious harmonies, and their exuberant message of hope in a divided world.
Deni Bonet will take the stage with her unparalleled violin virtuosity, genre-defying music, and guitar sidekick, the ever-talented Chris Flynn. Her arrangements are masterful and style captivating .With her rocking electric violin and classical execution, Deni’s high-energy performance promises to be a fully-charged fireworks display.
Boston’s Susan Cattaneo brings her New England Americana, blending rock, folk, blues, and country. With a voice that “rocks with the best of them” and heartfelt ballads that “bring tears to the eyes,” Susan will captivate you with her poetic lyrics and unforgettable stage presence.
Jon Shain, a veteran singer-songwriter, blends piedmont blues, bluegrass, swing, and ragtime. With nine solo albums and numerous collaborations, Shain won the 2019 International Blues Challenge. He has opened for legends like John Hiatt and Keb’ Mo’ and performed extensively across the U.S. and Europe, bringing his unique sound to audiences worldwide. Jon blew us away at the Project’s 2025 New Jersey Guitar Summit as a performer, teacher, and all-around great guy.
Andrew Dunn’s folk-pop sound, filled with poignant wit and captivating melodies, offers a fresh perspective on life’s everyday moments. His storytelling approach and unique style have earned him acclaim on the New Jersey folk scene.
Lastly, YOU! The weekend is capped by the Duet Roulette. Performing guests are randomly paired on arrival, and have the entire weekend to create a performance piece for the finale Sunday concert — always a community event to be cherished and remembered.
