Inside the Song with Don Sarlin
I am excited to dig into the sweet songs and guitar playing of Don Sarlin when I host him on Inside the Song on November 5, 2026. NOTE: This month we are having our show on the first Thursday.
Inside the Song is a peek into the artist and songwriter’s mind during the act of creation. It’s an opportunity for fans/music lovers and songwriters to glean a deeper understanding of the back stories, the judgements, the skill set, and the guidelines that influenced the artists we admire in making the songs we love. Tina Ross, host of the series, who is a singer-songwriter herself, will guide us all through an hour of music. You will get to ask your questions in the comment section during the show.
Inside the Song is usually the second Thursday of every month.
Don Sarlin is a guitarist, singer-songwriter, and composer from Montclair, New Jersey, known for his solo acoustic work, storytelling performances, and co-founding the acoustic trio The TriSonics.
Don began touring in his late teens, playing legendary venues like the Fillmore West, Boston Symphony Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Massey Hall, and the Isle of Wight Festival.
He has toured and performed with notable artists including Van Morrison, David Bromberg, Mary Travers (of Peter, Paul and Mary), R&B singer Esther Phillips, and Dean Friedman. He also appeared on Saturday Night Live (SNL) and in various television commercials.
Don co-founded The TriSonics, a genre-jumping acoustic trio featuring guitar, dobro, and bass, releasing multiple instrumental albums.
Don writes narrative-driven songs that seem like mini-screenplays, focusing on distinct characters, plots, places, and times.
Recently Don has been combining live music with personal stories from his early days on the road, and released personal projects like his song “The Shadow in Your Smile,” dedicated to raising awareness for maternal mental health.
