SpotLight Night Nov 28

Spotlight Night: Henry Nerenberg and Frank Sole, Dave Kleiner and Liz Pagan, Kathy Moser, Christine DeLeon

***  Admission: $20/$15 (FP members); 12 and under free with adult.***

Now for something truly entertaining, a Member-Star-Studded Set night! This should prove to be a wonderful evening to tame the Turkey within!

“Spotlight Night is part of the Folk Project’s “Meet the Folk Project”” in two special ways.

First, we’ll host a Meet, Greet & Eat from 6:30 until 7:30 curtain, an hour of hors d’oeuvres served by Master Chef Bob Cole, when new and long-time fans of the Troubadour get to meet one another and chat a bit between bites.”

Second, The concert presents four fabulous acts chosen from among the excellent talent that surrounds us: Frank & Hank,  Liz & Dave, Kathy Moser and Christine DeLeon.

Henry Nerenberg and Frank Sole are two gifted and talented guitarists who have explored the breadth and depth of American and world music for decades. If the duet is the most intimate form of artistic collaborations, these two share it in its most precious form – a musical conversation between two longtime friends who have mastered their craft and have a true passion for their music and each other. Frank and Hank’s arrangements are interesting and intricate, their song selections eclectic and edifying, and their manner engaging and warm. But above all, their show is entertaining.

Christine DeLeons voice is powerful, crystalline and assured. Winner of the 2023 Folk Project Songwriter Contest, her spellbinding vocals and award-winning songwriting create an unforgettable performance of pure musical artistry. With the lyrical grace of Judy Collins and the storytelling soul of Joan Baez, Christine captivates audiences with every note. From catchy originals to jazz-age gems, she’s been called “ The consummate musical communicator” whose performances are both moving and mesmerizing. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear Christine live — a voice you’ll long remember.

Dave Kleiner and Liz Pagan have been a musical and marital duo for more than 30 years. Dave is best known for his guitar chops and stellar songwriting, and Liz stands out as a talented and versatile vocalist in her own right. Dave and Liz have recorded four albums of his original music: Rhymes with Diner, BaD TaSTE, Salesman and Stuck Inside New Jersey. The recordings include songs about food (Too Many Restaurants),relationships (The Women Don’t Like Me), and parenting (Just Don’t Have Time for You), all with a unique perspective and wry sense of humor. His most popular song, “Don’t Fall in Love with a Mexican Rabbi”, has been covered by other folk musicians and even a cantor. Dave’s songs have been broadcast nationally on Mike Flynn’s Folk Sampler, Dr. Demento’s legendary radio program, NPR’s Car Talk, and many other radio shows across the country
