Michele Gedney

Michele Gedney, of the duo, Open Book, started writing songs at 7 and spent the last 23 years performing and recording with her late husband, Rick Gedney.
Since Rick’s passing, Michele finished and released their fifth and final album, “Leaning In” in September 2023, to critical acclaim.  She is a founding co-leader and teacher at Dar Williams’ “Writing a Song that Matters” retreat, in its 12th year. Michele’s songs are an honest expression of universal life experience, enabling listeners to connect intimately for a moving and beautiful shared musical experience.  Her songs have received numerous awards and her song “Go” has been released by Cry Cry Cry (Williams, Kaplansky, Shindell) on their 2020 album,
“Live at the Freight”.
