Pete Nelson
Pete Nelson started writing songs in Greg Brown’s kitchen at three in the morning (it’s alright – Greg was there) after hours as a bartender in Iowa City, Iowa. He has two CDs, “The Restless Boys Club” and “Days Like Horses” on the Signature Sounds label. He came to “fame” as a participant on Christine Lavin’s compilation “Big Times in a Small Town,” and he was nominated by the Boston Music Awards as Best New Folk act in 1996 but didn’t stand a chance because Patty Griffin was also nominated that year. He currently teaches songwriting at The Parlor Room School of Music in Northampton, MA.
