Cedar leads Sycamore Into the Woods, yelling timber with their timbre tunes.  Angela will call old Chestnuts along with Currant Poplar contras.  For just a few Buckeyes, Yew Alder go for a Peach of a time.  So Spruce yourself up and bring your Pawpaw or Elder, but leave your Dogwood and Catalpa at home.  If you don’t give a Fig, and Banyan all hope, you’ll Pine and Balsam if you miss this dance.  You don’t need Persimmon to Yucca it up.

*New! Extend the joy at our Picnic before the Afternoon Dance! Folks will be gathering at the picnic tables between the Library [next to the dance] and Scoops Ice Cream. Grab a cone, hot chicken + waffles from Namkeen across the street, a deli sandwich from Chatham Sandwich Shop, or brown-bag it. Then walk en masse to the advanced afternoon contra session. Look for Zach–the tall guy with the purple hair. Arrive anytime after 1 pm. Weather permitting.

Featuring Cedar Stanistreet [of Cloud Ten and Nor’easter fame] on fiddle, Michael Sokolovsky [of Uncle Farmer] on guitar and feet, and Samuel Foucher [of Spination] on accordion, Sycamore draws from a variety of styles to create a fun dance groove. From driving old-time reels to silky smooth waltzes, they have music for every occasion.
